The results of the survey have been compiled and are posted here. Please review the results and give comments to your conference representative prior to their attending the COA meeting. That meeting will take place on 4/1/09.
Athletic Trainers of the Year for 2009.
Congratulations to Paul Starks and Meredith Dillon of West Valley College, who are this years athletic trainer(s) of the year. Paul and Meredith attended to a soccer player who was was in cardiac arrest during practice. They initiated EMS, performed CPR and applied the AED. Due to their prompt, professional response, the athlete, who physicians estimated was without an active heart beat for 8 minutes, made a complete recovery and transferred to UC Irvine this spring.

We are looking for nominations for our California Community College Athletic Trainer of the year award. If you know an athletic trainer who is working at a California Community College who has gone above and beyond the call of duty please let us know who they are. Fill out the nomination form and send it to Michael Chisar. Nominations are accepted all year with the award presented at the COA meeting in the spring.
