2019 Athletic Trainer of the Year: Bill Ito

The California Community College Athletic Trainers Association is proud to announce the 2019 Athletic Trainer of the year is Bill Ito from Mt. San Antonio College.  Bill has been full time at Mt. San Antonio College for the past 11 years.  Besides his normal workload of working with Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Bill has helped develop a high school ROP Sports Medicine Articulation program.  He has also been a clinical preceptor for several Athletic Training Programs in Southern California and has shown future athletic trainers the benefits of working in a community college and many have left the rotation wanting to work in this setting.  This last year Bill presented to the Western States Athletic Conference and at the CCCATA Southern California Annual Meeting sharing his clinical knowledge on Cupping / Fascial Decompression techniques for soft tissue mobilization. Outside of his work at Mt. San Antonio College, Bill is active in supporting the Olympic movement by serving USA Track and Field for the last 13 years and USA Beach Volleyball for the past year.  Bill will be honored at the CCCAA “Honoring our Own” luncheon on Thursday March 28th  at the Concord Hilton 1970 Diamond Blvd, Concord CA 94520 @ 11:30 am.
